SIHLPORTE, a well-known commercial building in the city, is currently undergoing a comprehensive renovation and is being optimised for sophisticated office and retail uses. The core renovation measures include the installation of state-of-the-art building services systems including cooling and ventilation, a facade refurbishment, an innovative signage concept and new store fronts on the ground floor. As a result, the almost 100-year-old building between the main station and Paradeplatz is entering a new era in which tradition and modernity merge.
The US consulting firm Marsh McLennan will occupy a large proportion of the space as the new main tenant. Find out about the latest available rental space under Our offering or contact us directly.
BACKGROUND
Originally, Sihlporte was a gate of the fourth city fortifications and was the only passable access to the city on the left bank of the River Limmat. In 1834, the city wall including the Sihlporte was demolished. The current SIHLPORTE commercial building was built here in the 1930s and has played a major role in shaping Zurich’s city centre ever since.
